"The Most Fun I've Ever Had In A Triathlon!"
The SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon was added to the SavageMan Triathlon Festival for the first time in 2008 and was an unqualified hit!
The 0.93 mile swim, 22.9 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run provides athletes a shorter, less savage triathlon alternative to the flagship SavageMan 70.0 Triathlon,
while still offering all the beauty and just enough of a taste of the hills for SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon athletes to earn their SavageMan pedigree!
The SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon bike course does not go through Westernport, so there is no Westernport Wall for the SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon athletes.
Which SavageMan Race Is Right For Me?
While the SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon is a less savage option to the SavageMan 70.0 Triathlon with a shorter and more forgiving course, the SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon
is a challenging race in it's own right and certainly is adequate to give participants a sampling of the beauty and savage terrain that defines the SavageMan Triathlon.
But the SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon is no replacement for "The World's Most Beautiful and Most Savage Triathlon".
If you are unsure which race to choose, test your inner savage and tackle the SavageMan 70.0 Triathlon; it has no peer in the sport of triathlon. As one participant in the inaugural SavageMan 70.0 Triathlon wrote, "If you are reading
this and thinking 'Maybe', just do it. You will not be sorry."
However, if you have never tried the
Half-Ironman distance before or question whether you can finish under the cut-off times, then the SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon can provide a savage alternative for you!
SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon Overview
SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon athletes will start in waves starting at 9:30am, completing a 0.93 mile swim course.
The 22.9 mile bike course is all new for 2010 and includes beautiful scenery on quiet, rolling, farmland roads. The single loop 10K run course is largely held within the confines of Deep Creek Lake State Park. Enjoy finishing the SavageMan 30.0 Triathlon and be prepared to experience all of the amenities and fun of the SavageMan Festival and post-race party.
